TOPIC: Trail Ride Bonanza help

Trail Ride Bonanza help 7 years, 4 months ago #2569

Plans are afoot for a 'Trail Riding Bonanza'
The plan is 6 days of trails and camping in the uk. Partly this is due to my home pass allowance and days I can take off work.

The areas I am looking to cover are The Peak District,  Huddersfield , North Yorkshire, North Yorks Moors, North and south Lincolnshire (Viking Way) , Norfolk.

I have access to the trailwise  and trailzilla.com site so have some resources for the trails but would appreciate anyone shouting out, if they you have good local knowledge of any of these areas with the 'must go see' trails for you area. I can then start pencilling in these and work out what else to do in due course.

It's goin to be an arduous task of waking up , packing the tent etc- breakfast (cafe or cooking) then off for the day on the trails , working our way towards the next area. Once we have exhausted the trails do as twisty ride as possible to the next camp. Food and an occasional beer , sleep and start it all over again hehe

The target date for the off is mid August so the weather should be fantastic

I need a bit of help with decent campsites that will allow 6 or so muddied up riders to camp for one night.  If you know of any can you shout out.

The bike I will be on is the Africa Twin so the trails will be suitable for this.

Cheers
Gary

Give me a shout when you get down to Naarfuck and if I'm about I'm sure a few of us locals will be up for a ride round some of the superb local trails we have down here.

When your sure of your dates, give them a call, waking up to the sound of the animals is just great and adds to the experience, or do a recce and come along with us

If you have a look at some of the brief history pics in the link above you'll see all sorts of machines including AT's, so you'll be fine.

Got loads of good campsites for you that'll I post up when I get a chance, in the meantime I reckon we should rally a welcome party. A good excuse for a good few of us to get together.

Camping something like Wednesday, Thursday, Friday in anticipation of your arrival, I'm sure at that time of year there will be enough folk with time off with it being the school holidays.

Could even get a spot of boating in on the broads, that'd make a change from all those trails

P.S I can't get though to the website right now, but I reckon you would do well to end up here (Campsite just to the left of the Pub @ Reedham Ferry)

Web address for when it comes back online..
