TOPIC: 7/8" 22mm Tube / Pipe - Clips / Clamps

7/8" 22mm Tube / Pipe - Clips / Clamps 8 years, 4 months ago #1831

I need to fit the following to my bike:

  1. An accessory hoop for the front handle bars.
  2. A front carrier rack.
  3. A key magnet.
  4. Some rack extensions for carrying the tent.

For this I need some reasonably attractive 7/8" 22mm heavy duty Tube / Pipe - Clips / Clamps which is where I'm struggling.

I have so far found the following:

All of which will either require a small bank loan or are damn ugly
Other option for the accessory hoop is to use something like this:

Maybe these but perhaps not heavy duty enough:

Does anyone know of anything cheaper / more suitable, I will probably need about 10 altogether.

That's strange, what are you viewing it on? They are Ebay links if that could be why?

Can you see the links in this post?

Ive not got any advice with regards to the clips but will be interesting to see what you come up with. Perhaps you could sketch out what you are wanting to construct. Is it for the klx? Did I show you the turbo city link before?

Cheers IB, I've had a look on there before but didn't spot this..

Which is exactly what I was planning to make so it looks like poor old Aggy is gonna be £70 lighter now

So nice one IB, I will look at the economics but that looks just the job to me!

The key magnet I think I've sorted now (see the other post ref. Motorbike Keys) If it works I will order enough parts to put together half a dozen of them hopefully.

The pannier rack will just be a light weight frame thing probably just on the side opposite the exhaust and have already made some ground making my own so fingers crossed it will work .

For the accessory hoop I will probably just use the mirror clamps then bend a rod in two places and tap a 10mm thread on the end which I will wind in the holes of the clamps before I fit it all. The idea was that this could hold my tablet, camera, satnav etc but may have enough space without it.

P.S. I think someone accidentally deleted this post for a minute

Can't see any pics or placeholders and I'm using Safari (as I always have) and no, I can't see the pics in the Boots thread. I can see the latest pics in reply to IB though. Odd.

Have you got an add blocker installed maybe??

Pictures in reply to IB were just that, pictures, the other stuff you can't see is Ebay served content... can you see this posted on ABR?

That's post number 123956 about Yale alarms, at the top of page 2.

Nope. I'm sure eBay stuff was visible before, but perhaps that was on Safari on the PC (I've only tried iPhone and iPad, to be honest). Don't worry about it, I only mentioned it in case there was something odd going on.

Edit: Works fine on the PC. Think I just got caught-out by the lack of flash on iOS

And thanks for doing so, if you get a second can please just check the ABR link then we can probabbly conclude that it's more than likely an issue with iOS rather than anything else - do they still not support flash?

EDIT: crossover there and question answered - iOS still doesn't support flash which i've never got. I'm a windows man myself, still prefer to be able to fiddle with the nuts and bolts
