Just pondering further on idea that was mooted briefly at Banham.

I wondered about a days trail and road ride, taking in the full title of the forum A mix of introducing Shropshire's roads and trails, all bigger bike friendly as little or no mud would be the aim. So turning up on your bike and ride it home in one piece. I came up with a ride about 7-8 years ago for the XRV lads, but it never came off, and I think some of it would work.

I would have liked to base it here at home, but to be honest, the toilet facilities would be a problem and the hire costs of mobile units is daft, so a campsite would be best. There is a well known one near Bishops Castle, but I found the owners to be quite arsey when we were sussing it out as the XRV annual meet location

Would there be any interest in a low key ride over here in Shropshire, probably late in the Summer, but before the ground gets wet? If so, I'll investigate further on the campsite costs and locations. I know, I know, Ferdie friendly means fire friendly...!

As I would be solo leading, it would be numbers limited, probs about 6, unless I can get another Leader locally. While the Long Mynd is all legit, pressures of ramblers mean it is best done low key... Or a Friday ride???

That sounds great, the more the merrier. I'm currently scoping out a site for later in the year near Builth Wells for the forum to ride the trails of the Strata Florida and the roads of the Elan Valley. As I said to you, I'm in the area at the end of next week, so it would be great if as a group we could sort out a couple more meets in this year.

The XRV/BT meet at Wentnor was not a bad campsite as I recall.....in your area. But not sure about fires in the rally field? Unless we sorted a raised pit of some sort.
If you only have one plug, it needs to be a good plug!
July 14 - still true, but now have two plugs!

List of campsites that allow fires... Keep scrolling all way to bottom if needed as they are I a funny order.

Sound good! I'm up for it
Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you're gonna be up again. But life goes on.

I'd interested. I'd probably either lob more road friendly gearing on the xr, or head up on the Ducati and sample the roads
